Farmstand Story

We opened our farmstand in the spring of 2020 with one simple goal: to make our food available on our customers’ schedule. Before that, we had spent several years selling our produce at the farmers market in Bonners Ferry, and while we were grateful for the steady support, we began to notice something important - people were excited to bring home a bag full of fresh produce on Saturday, but many would have happily come back for more midweek if they’d had the chance. We loved the idea of creating a place where people could stop by when it worked for them, choose exactly what they wanted, and feel more directly connected to the food they were bringing home. That vision is what led us away from the traditional small farm CSA model and toward a self-serve farmstand. We had no idea how significant that decision would become. As COVID reshaped daily life the same month we opened, many families were suddenly looking for a more secure food system. What began as a way to offer convenience and the freshest food quickly became something much more - a place where people could gather, shop, and become part of a community rooted in food security, trust, and local connection.

As we watched our farmstand grow, we realized something: our location offered an advantage that many local farms didn’t have. Situated along a well-traveled route with convenient access, we had an opportunity to do more than simply sell our own products. We began asking ourselves, Why not create a central place where farmers and consumers can connect?

What started as a small self-serve farmstand has grown into a community food hub. Today, we're proud to stock products from many local farms, making fresh, nutrient-dense food more accessible and convenient for families in North Idaho. By bringing together the work of local growers, ranchers, bakers, and food producers under one roof, we're helping more people enjoy food they can trust while supporting the hardworking farmers who make it possible. Together, we're building a stronger, more resilient local food system - one purchase, one meal, and one relationship at a time!

More than anything, we love people. Over the years, so many of you have shared your stories with us, offered words of encouragement, and trusted us to provide clean, nourishing food for your families. We've celebrated with those who found food that supports their health and watched parents discover options that work for their children. We are truly grateful for every customer who chooses to shop with us.

Your consumer dollars matter. Every dollar you spend is a vote for the kind of world you want to live in - a world with local food, healthy soil, thriving rural communities, and farmers who care deeply about the land and the food they produce. Thank you for supporting small regenerative farms and for being part of this journey with us.
